Job Summary
Acuity is seeking a Product Manager, Manufacturing Technology to support the strategy, roadmap, delivery, and adoption of digital tools used across manufacturing operations. This role owns day-to-day product execution for manufacturing technology capabilities, including legacy applications, production data capture, planning and scheduling tools, digital Kanban, dashboards, reporting, and future data/AI-enabled use cases.
The Product Manager partners closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, IT, and Product leadership to translate operational needs into clear requirements, prioritized backlogs, and practical technology solutions. This role is focused on improving manufacturing execution, increasing tool adoption, strengthening operational visibility, and supporting the company’s transition from manual and legacy processes toward scalable digital capabilities.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Own Manufacturing Product Execution: Manage the day-to-day roadmap, backlog, requirements, and delivery execution for manufacturing technology tools, including both legacy applications and new digital products.
- Support Legacy Applications and Tools: Drive support, issue follow-up, troubleshooting coordination, enhancement requests, and continuous improvement for existing manufacturing applications, reports, and operational tools.
- Lead Product Discovery and Requirements: Partner with manufacturing users, planners, schedulers, and operational leaders to understand pain points, document current processes, define business needs, and translate them into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead Digital Transformation Initiatives: Help define, test, deploy, and improve digital manufacturing capabilities, including production data capture, scheduling tools, digital Kanban, operational dashboards, reporting, ERP/MES integrations, and data-driven improvement opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with Manufacturing, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, IT, and data teams to align priorities, clarify scope, resolve blockers, and ensure solutions meet operational needs.
- Agile Delivery Support: Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, UAT, bug validation, and deployment readiness to ensure product changes are delivered with quality and business value.
- User Training and Adoption: Support rollout planning, communication, user training, documentation, and feedback loops to ensure tools are adopted and embedded into daily manufacturing operations.
- Performance and Continuous Improvement: Track adoption, support issues, process gaps, user feedback, and operational impact to identify improvement opportunities and help prioritize future enhancements.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or Technology delivery supporting Manufacturing or Supply Chain systems. Candidates with 5+ years and deeper ERP/MES experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Fusion SCM, including Manufacturing, Inventory, and Order Management.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing processes, including planning, shop floor execution, work orders, BOMs, quality, and production support.
- Experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations, enhancements, or production support, including requirements, UAT, and release activities.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into user stories, backlog items, and product roadmap inputs.
- Familiarity with MES, planning systems, and ERP integrations, including data flows and reporting.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and operational performance metrics.
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working, including backlogs, sprints, releases, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with manufacturing technology tools, scheduling systems, digital Kanban, production reporting, MES, ERP, or planning systems.
- Experience with Power BI, Azure DevOps, Jira, SQL tools, data lakes, APIs, or operational reporting platforms.
- Experience supporting legacy application improvement, system deployments, user adoption, or multi-site manufacturing rollouts.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing users, planners, schedulers, engineers, and IT teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs such as schedule adherence, production attainment, capacity utilization, inventory accuracy, lead time, and operational productivity.
- Experience participating in digital transformation, process standardization, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting or participating in the design, deployment, or improvement of Oracle EBS/Fusion Manufacturing processes, including work orders, routings/work definitions, resources, production operations, WIP visibility, and shop-floor execution workflows.
Location and Travel:
Location: Hybrid in Mexico, aligned to Manufacturing Technology support needs.
Travel: Up to 20–25% to manufacturing sites or business locations depending on project needs, deployments, user training, and operational support requirements.
