Job Summary

The Applications Engineer role is designed to provide comprehensive technical support and training services across the Southeast Asia region. This position serves as a key technical resource for systems integrators, consultants, distributors, and end users, ensuring the effective deployment and operation of AV/IT solutions. The engineer is responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, supporting system design and commissioning, and delivering structured training programs aligned with Q-SYS and other specialist platforms.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Technical Support

  • Provide post-sales support for hardware and software issues across AV/IT platforms
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues including programming, commissioning, and network configuration
  • Escalate unresolved issues to internal teams and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain detailed documentation of technical issues, resolutions, and best practices
  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve product performance and customer experience
  • Actively involved in the upgrades and testing processes for the Experience Center, contributing to its enhanced functionality and overall performance.
  • Assist with pre-sales system design, specification, and solution architecture

Training & Enablement

  • Deliver technical training courses and product seminars to partners, consultants, and end users
  • Support the development and localization of training content for Q-SYS and other specialist platforms
  • Present confidently to small and medium-sized audiences, adapting content for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comprehensive training support to distributors, covering new training materials, updated syllabus and assistance with class arrangements.
  • Provide assistance for both internal and external partner events, ensuring smooth coordination and successful execution.

Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners and end users across Southeast Asia
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to inform product development
  • Represent the company professionally in meetings, industry events, and cross-functional collaborations

Skills

Education (minimum education required)

Associate of Engineering

Preferred Education (i.e. type of degree)

Bachelor of Engineering

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in professional AV, IT infrastructure, or related industries
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electronics, Audio Visual Technology, Sound Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in technical support, systems engineering, or commissioning roles
  • Experience with third-party AV control integration and scripting (e.g., LUA)
  • Experience in AV network setup, along with a solid understanding of network topology, protocols and infrastructure
  • Excellent troubleshooting initiative paired with an analytical mindset to approach and resolve issues effectively
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident presenter with natural gravitas
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
  • Professional demeanor and discretion in handling sensitive information

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with AV design tools such as EASE, smart, etc
  • Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
    • AV industry certifications: CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D
    • IT networking certifications: CCNA, CCDA
    • Q-SYS Level 2, Quantum certification
