Job Summary
The Director of Sourcing is responsible for directing the sourcing function for over $300M in annual spend for the Indirect Sourcing organization categories. They are responsible for understanding the global market, developing, and communicating market forecasts, maintaining applicable data integrity, facilitation of source selection with process partners and qualifications, monitoring supplier performance to drive improvement, encouraging the personal professional development of personnel and assuring competitive-plus value for each dollar spent. This leader will be expected to partner with matrixed representatives from other business functions to develop strategies that stand the test of time and deliver sustainable value to the organization. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with their internal business units and drive enterprise-wide sourcing, category management, contract negotiation and delivery of technology to the related spend categories. This role provides leadership, subject matter expertise and strategic direction in support of the company categories Sourcing and Buying activities for Professional Services, Travel, IT, MRO, and Facilities.
This position is primarily remote, with up to 80% of the duties and responsibilities being completed from a home office. The remainder of the 20% would be spent traveling to different business locations to support collaboration and building cohesive cross-functional internal and external relationships for holistic breakthrough results.
Essential Job Functions
- Direct a staff of 10+ sourcing professionals in their category management to ensure that significant opportunities are being addressed to the satisfaction of our customers through maintenance and communication of robust category strategies.
- Deep industry knowledge and experience of Indirect categories (Professional Services, Travel, IT, MRO, and Facilities).
- Lead development and implementation and governance of Global Sourcing strategies for major categories (considering process partner roadmaps) aimed at successful and controlled execution, net cost savings, free cash flow, and risk mitigation.
- Build common purpose with key business functional leaders to create a collaborative approach to category and supplier relationship management that are aligned with category roadmaps.
- Enhance global spending visibility and taxonomy to clearly define category spend baselines, supplier strategic designations for simplification and standardization.
- Ensure we address robust execution plans, business requirements and cost performance.
- Embraces collaboration, curiosity, and champion of change / life learner / owner’s mindset.
- Strong track-record of delivering repetitive success in leading and closing contractual negotiations across multiple categories, ensuring that essential supplier agreements are in place with best-in-class terms.
- Develop a clear channel of calendar, cadence, content for communication, alignment, and coordination between functional counterparts in the business units across all levels of the enterprise.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated results in Indirect Sourcing spaces, specifically Professional Services, Travel, IT, MRO, and Facilities).
- Considered as a subject matter expert across multiple categories (ideal candidate will have managed all five categories.
- Deep experience with IT system integrations & Merger Acquisition integrations.
- Experienced with multi-step strategic sourcing processes in a range of categories is a plus.
- Skilled in negotiations, collaboration, communication, strategy, change management.
- Experience with complex leveraged agreements, multi-year contracts, and SOWs.
- Highly results-oriented and focused on business priorities with a successful record of accomplishments.
- Excellent supplier relationship management skills, ignores naysayers, positive “can do” attitude.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, including ability to assess and manage priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to build rapport with suppliers, business partners and cross-functional colleagues to foster collaborative relationships.
- Excels at communications, delivering results, managing complexity and ambiguity, being well organized, and influencing.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Sourcing Manager in Indirect Sourcing, leading a team.
- Experience with Fieldglass to support contingency labor and recruitment is a plus.
- Experience with Direct Sourcing is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills are required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, or related business field.
- APICS/NAPM, CPIM or CPM certification or equivalent preferred.

The range for this position is $131,000.00 to $235,700.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
