Job Summary

As a Human Resources Compliance Manager, you will be a key member of Acuity’s Associate and Labor Relations team with responsibility for ensuring adherence to employment laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. This role will be responsible for providing critical guidance and support to develop scalable human resources policies and processes that are aligned with our values, meet legal regulatory and legal obligations, and mitigate risk.

The incumbent in this position will lead global HR-related compliance initiatives, support audits, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and drive process improvements. This position requires exceptional critical thinking skills and strong collaboration with legal, internal audit and compliance partners, HR centers of excellence, and HR business partners. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates with clarity and confidence, and enjoys solving complex compliance challenges with precision and care.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Research and interpret employment regulations and requirements to support human resources policy development and ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance on compliant HR policies, procedures, and people practices.
  • Manage projects to review and update HR policies and procedures; work with HR policy and process owners to design and implement internal controls to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and improve process efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation of key risks and controls; conduct regular reviews to validate ongoing compliance effectiveness.
  • Conduct testing and support assessments and recommendations for tools and solutions related to HR process improvements.
  • Support training initiatives on compliance, workplace conduct, and labor relations.
  • Manage compliance with notice and labor law posting requirements.
  • Assist in responding to internal and external employment-related requests, audits, reviews, and other inquiries.
  • Partner with outside legal counsel and HRIS to fulfill annual compliance reporting requirements, including OFCCP, AAP, EEO-1, VETS-4212, and state pay data.
  • Support other projects as needed.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Master's Degree or legal experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with employment laws (EEO, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and DOL) and Human Resources best practices.
  • Familiarity with federal and state reporting (e.g., EEO-1, AAP, VETS-4212) and notice requirements.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a global environment.
