Job Summary

The Acuity Brands Internship Program is a 10–12-week experience designed to develop high-potential candidates into marketing leaders through hands-on experiences that connect interns’ strengths and interests with the needs of the business.

In addition to making an impact through your participation in key projects and transformative processes, you will have an opportunity to mentor and network with leaders throughout Acuity Brands. Come join Acuity as a Data Science & Business Analyst Intern and gain hands-on experience in data analytics, automation, and business strategy. This internship provides exposure to modern data tools, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Key Responsibilities:

Data Science & Insights: Assist in predictive modeling, machine learning, and dashboard creation using Power BI.
Data Analysis & Market Research: Analyze customer channels, market trends, segmentation, and competitive benchmarking.
Database & Infrastructure: Work with structured/unstructured data, support pipelines, and ensure data integrity.
Process Improvement & Automation: Apply Lean/AI tools, automate simple business processes, and use Better Smarter Faster (BSF) Tools.
Technology & Innovation: Explore tools like Figma, Confluence, Miro, Power BI and Power Automate; evaluate new technologies for business needs.
Team Collaboration: Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and IT teams; contribute to cross-functional projects and reporting.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

In addition to pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, qualified interns will have:

Relevant internship or project experience
A minimum GPA of 3.0
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem-solving capabilities.
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Experience leading teams or organizations
Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment, to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload even when faced with conflicting priorities.
