Job Summary

The Senior Director of Global Benefits leads the strategy, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Company's benefits programs on an international scale. This role ensures competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and equitable benefits offerings across diverse geographies. The Senior Director partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, Legal, external vendors, and other stakeholders to drive associate health, wellness, financial security and overall associate value proposition. This role will lead a staff of international benefits managers and will partner closely with legal, finance and the broader Total Rewards and HR team to execute it's responsibilties and deliver the highest value.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Strategic Benefits Strategy & Design: Develops and executes a global benefits strategy aligned with the company’s business goals, culture, cost objectives, and talentretention priorities. Design benefit programs (health, wellness, life/disability, retirement/pension, leave, voluntary benefits, etc.) that are locally compliant but globally consistent.
  • Drive innovation: stay on top of trends, benchmark vs. peers, and propose enhancements to benefit offerings.
  • Program Implementation & Management: Lead end-to-end implementation of benefit programs, including vendor selection, contracting, renewal negotiation, and performance metrics. Oversee administration of benefit plans, including health, medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, wellness, retirement/pension, leave, mobility/relocation, etc. Manage vendor relationships (insurers, brokers, consultants) to ensure service, cost, quality and compliance.
  • Financial Management & Cost Optimization: Oversee budgeting and forecasting of benefits costs globally. Use analytics, claims data, market benchmarking to drive cost containment, improve benefits efficiency, and ensure financial sustainability. Present benefit program performance, trends, and risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership and finance stakeholders.
  • Associate Experience, Communication & Well-Being: Develop and execute communication strategies to educate and engage associates on benefit options, wellness, leave, retirement, etc. Lead wellness and wellbeing programs (physical, mental, financial) to support associate health, engagement, retention. Collect and act on associate feedback; continuously improve the experience of benefits users.
  • Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Oversight: Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with laws, regulations, and statutory requirements in each jurisdiction (local, regional, global). Lead audits, filings, plan testing where required (e.g., ACA, ERISA equivalents, data privacy, tax implications). Manage risk associated with benefit plan design and administration, including financial risk (forecasting, underwriting), claims trends, etc.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
  • This position requires a minimum of 9 years of related benefits experience
  • Working knowledge of retirement plans and health and welfare plans, leaves of absence and their compliance, and administration required.
  • Skilled in understanding benefit costs and financials, strong communication and negotiation skills, and ability to manage third-party advisors to drive favorable benefits outcomes for Acuity.

The range for this position is $160,100.00 to $288,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
