The Channel Development Sr. Manager plays a critical role in driving regional growth by strengthening the effectiveness of our independent sales agencies and improving regional performance. This role, reporting to the Regional Vice President, ensures commercial strategy is translated into clear, actionable execution across the channel, aligning agencies and internal teams around shared priorities.
By serving as the voice Acuity to the agents and the customers this role identifies growth opportunities, addresses capability gaps, and drives focused improvements that accelerate productivity, revenue growth and increase market share. The impact of this role is seen in achievement of growth goals, alignment of agency actions regarding ABL priorities and initiatives, stronger agency partnerships, improved connection with internal teams, better market coverage and increased market share.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Regional Channel Strategy & Alignment
• Translate customer, agency, and market insights into actionable regional channel strategies aligned with ABL priorities
• Partner with agency stakeholders, Regional VPs, and cross-functional teams to align execution with commercial goals
• Establish a strong operating cadence (meetings, content, communication) to drive engagement and alignment
• Act as regional liaison to ensure clear communication of priorities across agencies and internal teams
• Maintain strong field presence through agency interactions, customer visits, and events

Performance Insights & Decision Support
• Leverage analytics (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce) to assess performance and identify root-cause issues
• Deliver data-driven insights across agencies, accounts, and markets to influence decisions
• Support executive-level reporting, business reviews, and strategic planning
• Gather and synthesize voice of customer and agency feedback to inform strategy

Agency Performance Management
• Monitor and evaluate agency performance using qualitative and quantitative metrics (e.g., SWOT, reporting tools)
• Act as strategic advisor to Regional VPs on performance, competitive landscape, and market dynamics
• Support development and succession planning for agency leadership
• Drive corrective actions for underperforming agencies and improve alignment
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure execution of regional strategies

Channel Development & Growth Initiatives
• Support key vertical growth initiatives (e.g., Healthcare, Data Centers)
• Lead and contribute to targeted initiatives such as agency collaboration, contractor growth, and cross-territory specification
• Drive alignment between agencies and ABL partners
• Support forecasting, pipeline management, and execution tracking in Salesforce

Preferred Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•    Strong understanding of the Acuity Brands Lighting organization, C&I market and channel, and business strategy
•    Tools & Systems – Power BI, Salesforce, Dodge
•    Excellent problem solving, negotiation and communication skills
•    6–8 years of experience in Sales or commercial support
•    Proven ability to leverage data to drive insightful decisions and actions

Travel Requirements

•    50–70% travel, varying by region and business needs

The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $164,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
