Job Summary
Acuity has an ambitious technology and transformation agenda across a portfolio of programmatic initiatives to drive growth. The focus of this critical role is helping Acuity follow a structured approach to setting digital strategy across the enterprise, creating transparency into and alignment around digital investments with priorities and value to the business. This role will be part of the Transformation Office in the Growth & Transformation team working at the intersection of IT, enabling functions and the core businesses of ABL and AIS (lighting and intelligent spaces). The successful candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, technology understanding, financial acumen, and an ability to prioritize and sequence resources.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Provide structure and organization to strategy and planning work that sets and resets the technology investments and priorities. Work with the team to establish and run the process, set milestones and artifacts for strategic planning and prioritizing. Work with the tech and business teams to align their work and outputs with a common set of deliverables.
- Lead efforts across teams to integrate strategic plans, roadmaps, resource needs, and co-dependencies into top down view of the plans and outcomes. Prepare necessary leadership team updates and documents for communicating with the Executive Leadership Team, Board and other critical stakeholders including strategy and budget target reviews
- Create an integrated view of outcomes and value delivered across investments. Work with teams to understand differences between forecast and actuals for insight into acceleration and deceleration of value realization
- Work with program and product teams to define outcomes from digital investments and transformation initiatives. Develop ROI models and dashboards as needed to help business and IT understand and support value being delivered
- Work with Finance and Tech teams to ensure costs are being properly captured and allocated between program areas, capex and opex. Set up the mechanisms to automate the financial processes, reduce manual effort and increase accuracy of the numbers
- Identify key cost drivers and analyze opportunities and risks within categories, e.g., software purchases and renewals, FTE additions and attrition, professional services. Work with Finance and tech leaders to help frame in a way that drives clarity on the implications of certain spend decisions ahead of commitments
Success in this role requires a unique combination of skills and character traits which include:
- Ability to holistically view and understand Acuity's ecosystems and connect digital and transformation investments to business outcomes
- Relevant experience working with financial systems and understanding tech investment areas, demonstrated structuring top down and attention to detail in understanding outcomes
- A desire to drive measurable results in terms of operating efficiency or income. A corresponding data-driven mindset that can clearly identify, articulate, and quantify the levers that will improve your product(s)

Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- 10+ years experience in planning and strategy
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to influence, drive collaboration and integration across multiple teams and functions
- Self starter, entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with value capture, ROI measurement, KPI tracking and reporting

The range for this position is $104,200.00 to $187,500.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
