The Acuity Inc. Internship Program is a 10–12-week experience (May – August, 40 hours/week) designed to develop high-potential candidates into marketing leaders through hands-on experiences that connect interns’ strengths and interests with the needs of the business. In addition to making an impact through your participation in key projects and transformative processes, you will have an opportunity to mentor and network with leaders throughout Acuity Inc.
We prefer that interns only have one or two semesters left in their degree program so they can be considered for our Leadership Program immediately following the completion of the internship. Our Leadership Program is a full-time, entry-level rotational program that allows recent graduates to explore different areas within a functional area. These experiences enable young talent to grow their skill set and network within the company while figuring out what they are passionate about early in their careers.
As a Product Management Intern – Technology, you will drive strategic initiatives, shape product direction, and collaborate with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that enable growth, efficiency, and innovation across Acuity. This internship provides hands-on exposure to finance and accounting processes while supporting product strategy, platform delivery, and business outcomes. Also, it's a high-visibility opportunity for graduate students to gain hands-on experience supporting finance and accounting initiatives and contribute to Acuity's transformation journey.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
While specific projects and activities vary during your internship, you can expect to:
- Leverage analytical thinking and business acumen to contribute to product initiatives supporting finance systems, data, and enterprise platforms.
- Support the development of finance and accounting technology strategy, roadmaps, and platform enhancements to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Conduct user interviews, competitive research, and market assessments to identify opportunities and validate product direction.
- Evaluate product initiatives through ROI analysis, business case modeling, and impact assessments to guide prioritization.
- Help translate finance and accounting needs into system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, collaborating with technology and operations teams.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, help track sprint progress, and support incremental product releases.
- Work with Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams to ensure alignment, resolve blockers, and drive successful project delivery.
- Define success metrics and support the measurement of product performance, adoption, and business impact.
Qualifications
In addition to currently pursuing a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university, qualified interns will have:
- Relevant prior work or internship experience in finance, accounting, financial systems, technology, consulting, or related business functions.
- Coursework or academic focus in financial systems, reporting tools, data analytics, or technology-enabled business processes preferred.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience driving results in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with agile delivery and product development processes preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Availability to travel based on business needs (5-10%).
The range for this position is $36,000.00 to $64,800.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
