Job Summary
The role sits at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering Leadership, and Enterprise Technology, accountable for outcomes across platform strategy, delivery performance, and adoption. It is foundational to Acuity’s ability to scale engineered-product innovation, accelerate time-to-market, improve quality, and increase reuse across the value chain. The ideal candidate is a product-first platform leader who can lead engineering organizations and drive AI-enabled SDLC and broader AI adoption with strong governance and measurable value.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Product Vision, Platform Strategy & Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to Product Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Sourcing leaders to define the target-state ecosystem and measurable outcomes.
- Own a multi-year platform vision and portfolio strategy spanning product data, engineering enablement, integration patterns, and shared services that improve speed, quality, cost, and scalability.
- Establish and evolve the product and engineering operating model (decision rights, intake, prioritization, architecture governance, delivery cadence, and value measurement) across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive AI-enabled SDLC adoption (e.g., copilots, automated testing, code review assistance, documentation, and release automation) with responsible AI guardrails and clear productivity/quality KPIs.
- Translate enterprise priorities into an outcome-driven roadmap with dependency sequencing, funding strategy, and realized value tracking—ensuring platforms operate as products, not projects.
Product Data, Digital Thread & Engineering Workflow Enablement
- Own the enterprise strategy for product data interoperability across authoring tools, product data platforms, and downstream systems—ensuring consistent semantics, versioning, and traceability.
- Partner with engineering and product leaders to enable scalable workflows for authoring, review, change, reuse, and collaboration—backed by clear standards for structures, attributes, classification, and validation.
- Advance digital thread capabilities that connect design intent, engineering decisions, manufacturing readiness, and commercialization—improving cycle time, quality, and compliance.
- Apply AI/automation to improve product data quality and engineering throughput (e.g., attribute suggestions, component matching, document generation, change impact analysis, and knowledge capture).
Manufacturing, Sourcing & Downstream Enablement
- Ensure product definitions and changes flow reliably across Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, ERP, CPQ, and Digital Commerce—establishing authoritative sources, stewardship, and integration contracts.
- Reduce downstream friction by standardizing release readiness, change propagation, and compliance processes—supported by automation and clear SLAs.
- Partner with manufacturing and GTM leaders to ensure structures, attributes, and configuration rules are execution-ready, enabling accurate build, price, configure, and fulfill.
- Drive a single, scalable model for item and product master data, configuration logic, and impact analysis across engineering and GTM systems.
Other
Product Management, Technology & Organizational Excellence
- Build and lead a high-impact product & platform organization spanning product management, platform engineering, architecture, and delivery leadership.
- Set standards for product discovery, problem framing, roadmap hygiene, prioritization, and outcome measurement—paired with strong engineering practices for execution.
- Own the engineering effectiveness agenda: developer experience, CI/CD maturity, test automation, reliability/observability, and reduction of technical debt.
- Partner with Engineering and Enterprise Architecture to manage modernization, scalability, security, resiliency, and platform governance.
- Champion AI adoption across the product engineering value stream (SDLC and business workflows), including enablement, change management, responsible AI controls, and measurable business outcomes.
Executive Leadership & Influence
- Own portfolio-level investment strategy and prioritization, including multi-year funding models, business cases, and ROI tracking.
- Operate as a trusted peer to senior Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Product, and Technology leaders, co-owning outcomes rather than serving as a delivery function.
- Communicate clearly and credibly at the executive level on strategy, roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and realized enterprise value.
- Represent the Product Engineering platform strategy in enterprise governance, planning, and transformation forums.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- 15+ years of progressive leadership across product management, engineering/platform leadership, and enterprise technology.
- Proven ability to define product vision and translate it into roadmaps, operating models, and measurable outcomes across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering organizations through modern SDLC transformation (CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, reliability/observability) and improving delivery performance.
- Strong fluency in platform, data, and integration architectures, with the ability to balance speed, quality, risk, and scalability.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence across business and technology domains and drive adoption at scale.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience building and scaling platform product teams (product + engineering) and driving durable adoption across diverse user communities.
- Hands-on experience applying AI/ML and automation to the SDLC and enterprise workflows (e.g., copilots, test generation, intelligent triage, knowledge management) with responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle/product data domains (e.g., PLM/PDM, BOM/change workflows, CAD integrations, PIM/MDM) and the broader engineered-product value stream.
- Experience integrating product and engineering platforms with ERP, CPQ, Digital Commerce, and MDM ecosystems.
- MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
- Systems thinker who balances long-term platform strategy with engineering and operational realities; comfortable operating in ambiguity and simplifying complex domains.
