Position Summary & Location
Acuity Brands is hiring a Distribution Inventory Accuracy/Continuous Improvement Leader in Carlisle, PA to help drive continuous improvement processes in alignment with our Better, Smarter, Faster operating system.
While this role does not have formal direct reports, you will serve as a key point of coordination and problem-solving on the floor, ensuring smooth shift transitions, efficient workflows, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
This position works on-site full-time from Carlisle, PA. Standard working hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00–6:00 PM, with flexibility depending on operational needs.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Coordinate and monitor activities across multiple shifts to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
Serve as a resource for employees on the floor, answering questions, resolving issues, and facilitating communication.
Collaborate closely with supervisors, team leads, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
Support and promote safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
Apply continuous improvement tools (Lean, Kaizen) to enhance efficiency.
Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through poka yoke processes.
Adapt to workload fluctuations, reassign tasks, and manage priorities effectively.
Maintain focus and productivity in a noisy, high-energy environment.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Recent graduates with relevant manufacturing or distribution experience are encouraged to apply.
Exposure to or experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment, preferably high-volume.
Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methods (Lean, Kaizen) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Forklift operation experience is considered an asset.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in an open-space warehouse environment with close working proximity to others.
Flexibility to adjust hours (7:00 AM to 4:00–6:00 PM) and provide coverage when needed.
Able to stand for long periods, lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs frequently, and tolerate temperatures from 40–90°F.
