Job Summary
The Director of Strategy partners with the VP of Strategy and Pricing to shape and drive the company’s strategic agenda. This role translates market, competitive, and internal data into clear strategic recommendations, leads the development of strategic plans, and drives execution of large-scale change initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with the leadership skills needed to align cross-functional teams around a shared direction and see initiatives through to results.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Lead data-driven strategy development, using market research, competitive analysis, and internal performance data to identify growth opportunities, risks, and strategic priorities.
- Own the strategic planning process, including developing multi-year strategic plans, defining objectives and KPIs, and tracking progress against them.
- Lead large-scale organizational change initiatives, from defining the case for change through implementation, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and sustained adoption.
- Partner closely with the VP of Strategy and Pricing to shape the strategic agenda and prepare recommendations for executive and board-level audiences.
- Build business cases and financial models to evaluate strategic options (e.g., new markets, products, partnerships, or operating model changes).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure strategic initiatives are well-coordinated and resourced.
- Communicate complex analysis and strategic narratives clearly to senior leaders, distilling large data sets into actionable insight.
- Monitor execution of strategic initiatives, identify barriers, and recommend course corrections as needed.
- Mentor and develop junior strategy team members, where applicable.
Preferred Education (i.e. type of degree)
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- 7+ years of experience in strategy development, strategic planning, or a related field, with demonstrated success using data to inform strategic decisions.
- Track record of leading or playing a central role in large-scale organizational change initiatives.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into clear strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Prior experience in management consulting.
The range for this position is $135,500.00 to $268,500.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
