Job Summary

QSC is looking for a leader to head the software development team in our new Development Center of Excellence (DCOE) in Cork, Ireland. The Software Engineering Leader is responsible for managing the Q-SYS DCOE software team and working with Q-SYS development teams across the globe, managing multiple programs for different groups. This includes overseeing the development process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. This role requires a deep understanding of software development methodologies, as well as the ability to build, manage and mentor a new team of developers and quality engineers. This is an in office position, M-F in Cork, Ireland.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Leadership and Management: Lead the software and quality team in Cork, Ireland, providing mentorship, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration.
Strategic Planning: Define and execute software delivery strategies aligned with company goals, integrating Q-SYS AI tools and infrastructure.
Project Management: Oversee software projects to ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery with high-quality outcomes.
Technical Oversight: Guide technical decisions, stay current with industry trends, and enforce best practices in architecture and development.
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with global leadership and cross-functional teams to align development with business needs and report progress.
Quality Assurance: Apply Q-SYS quality standards through testing, automation, and code reviews to maintain software excellence.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Minimum 10 years of work experience in software development, with a proven track record of leading and managing software development teams.

Proficiency in various programming languages, software development methodologies, and tools. The motivation to keep up to date with industry trends and technologies is crucial.

The ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the software development process. This includes troubleshooting technical problems and finding innovative solutions.

Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Test Automation and general release processes for cloud, desktop, and mobile applications is required.

Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to build new development teams, mentor and coach team members, manage conflicts, and foster a collaborative environment.
