Job Summary
Primarily responsible for ensuring QSC’s compliance with trade laws, trade business processes, and regulations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and the rest of QSC’s business in Latin America, in accordance with corporate policies and frameworks.
This role supports regional regulatory engagement and serves as a key point of coordination for import and export compliance activities across the Americas.
Support, leads, and conducts proactive compliance audits within the region to identify potential areas of risk or vulnerability, and develops and implements corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement of trade compliance practices.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Regulatory Analysis & Support (20%): Analyze and interpret regional trade compliance regulations (US, Mexico, Canada, LATAM) related to imports and exports.

Expertise & Classification (20%): Provide decision-oriented expertise on customs classification (USHTS/HS), valuation, country of origin, special trade programs, and export controls for the Americas.

Process Improvement (20%): Work cross-functionally to develop and implement process improvements for import/export activities and actively contribute to the delivery of the regional compliance program.

Program Implementation (10%): Develop, maintain, and implement regional trade compliance processes aligned with corporate policies and global procedures.

Audits & Risk Mitigation (10%): Conduct trade compliance audits and implement corrective action plans to mitigate identified compliance risks.

Operations & Stakeholder Guidance (20%): Monitor daily regional operations to ensure compliance; communicate regulatory updates and provide guidance/training to stakeholders; escalate critical issues to the Sr. Manager, Global Trade Compliance.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or similar certifications in a relevant field (International Business and Trade, Logistics, etc.) or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a Trade Compliance role with deep knowledge of compliance processes and how they integrate with other business functions.

Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish (both verbal and written) is strictly required to support the Americas region.

Technical Expertise: Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) modules, compliance systems, or software. Experience with cross-functional teams implementing system changes based on legal/user requirements.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of USHTS/HS, country of origin, free trade agreements, and U.S. EAR; working knowledge of ACE, SNAP-R, and familiarity with the LATAM import/export environment.

Core Competencies: Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to present conclusions clearly; strong communication skills; ability to promote a robust compliance culture and ethical business practices.

Supervision & Independence: Non-supervisory role. Allowed to make certain non-revenue affecting regional decisions, with monetary decisions kept within strictly designated parameters.

The range for this position is $91,400.00 to $164,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
