Job Summary

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Communicate schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
  • Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe
  • conditions or violations of procedures or safety rulesNotifies management of deficiencies.
  • Assign employees to tasks based upon skills, knowledge, abilities and training.
  • Trains employees on tasks, procedures and equipment.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities; and analyze information and inform management of
  • needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Provide feedback to employees on work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. This excludes assessing job performance, which is a management responsibility
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts. Must be approved by management.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders in order to construct templates and layout reference points for workers.
  • Assist management in promoting a hazard-free work environment by periodically inspecting processes, procedures and equipment. Notifies management of deficiencies.
  • Recommend improvements in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques; operational procedures and equipment use.
  • Motivate employees to perform at their best by modeling positive leadership.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including bulletin boards using the principles of 5S.
  • Ensure all employees work safely and in an environmentally compliant manner.
  • Provide Leadership to employees by developing employees in all aspects of the job, making routine decisions and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all employees know and follow ABS (5S, STD Work, Kanban, etc.)
  • Drive KPI’s of area (+QDIP)
  • Ensure employees operate at Cycle time by anticipating and responding to issues.
  • Staging material for employees to assure flow.
  • Stepping in and assisting as needed. Instruct employees on processes.
  • Ensure employees have tools and materials to perform job functions.
  • Responsible for Visual Management of area (HR by HR, +QDIP, SW docs, KB, Schedule, etc.)
  • Accurately maintain necessary records.

Education (minimum education required)

High School Diploma Equivalency/ GED

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing high quality service to internal customers and personal services.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies and procedures to promote the safety and security of employees, data and property.
  • People Knowledge- Knowledge of principles and procedures for training and motivating employees to perform at their personal best.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
