Job Summary

The Engineering Change Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of engineering changes to minimize quality risks and support product compliance with established specifications. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Design, and Quality teams to coordinate engineering changes, validate product and process requirements, support accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate, coordinate, and report activities related to engineering changes and process deviations.
  • Coordinate on-site Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including approval tracking and implementation.
  • Partner with Focus Factory Engineers to receive, manage, and implement engineering changes, including trials and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design Assist teams to support the BOM creation process and ensure BOM accuracy.
  • Analyze process and product performance using statistical tools and Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Maintain statistical analysis of detected deficiencies by type and frequency and use data to drive corrective actions.
  • Provide activity reports and support problem-solving initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify dependencies or conflicts related to engineering changes and communicate detected deficiencies to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support compliance activities related to UL, CSA, NSF, and NOM requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements that make engineering change and configuration management processes more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, and related manufacturing improvement events.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Engineering teams and Engineering Change Management processes.(Must)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant and production-floor environment.
  • Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and/or Quality experience within a plant environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with PFMEA, statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DoE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Experience with structured problem-solving and troubleshooting methodologies such as A3, 8D, and DMAIC.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience supporting or participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in electronics assembly is preferred.
