Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to create quality as a key differentiator and competitive advantage for our electronics products. Quality is a product that does what it is supposed to, for as long as it is supposed to; arrives where and when it is supposed to, and in full; is easy to select, identify, and order. This position will lead the Electronics Quality Strategy, Continuous Process Improvement Funnel and our System Quality Engineering Team. Additionally, this role will work with the broader Acuity quality team to ensure that we drive quality across all functions.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ABL Quality Initiative and Electronic Quality Process Improvements
- Work to identify and drive quality improvement across the entire simple product process working with the broader ABL quality team.
- Utilize data to determine the largest projects to drive impact across ABL and Electronics.
- Drive key improvements through Electronics working across the teams to drive process improvements and key changes needed to drive positive outcomes.
- Quality System Assurance Team
- Lead our quality system assurance team to improve our test engineer processes utilizing industry best practices. Align and structure the work to optimize electronics quality from unit to system testing across all resources.
- Work to drive improvements upstream so that long term we minimize the bugs found in test.
- Implement system testing to evolve ensure not just our products, but projects.
- Optimize our lab footprint to drive productivity across our entire footprint. Create 3 year rolling capital plans to ensure we keep our labs up to date.
- Utilize automation and AI to drive productivity
Performance Management:
- Monitor performance metrics, including cost, service levels, and risk.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to achieve art of the possible.
- Prepare and present supply chain performance reports to senior management.
- Special projects
- Help support special projects across ABL as they arise.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Education: BS degree, preferably in science, engineering, or other related technical field.
- 10+ years of related experience with 7+ in a management role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works with multifunctional, global teams in a fast-paced setting, as well as builds strong relationships across the organization and influences critical decisions.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated success in managing a large team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems and Testing methodologies preferred but not required.
- Ability to manage department budgets and staffing.
- Result-driven with ideas to drive continuous improvement and process simplification with breakthrough solutions, including digital.
- Challenges the status quo to drive continuous improvement and enhancements to operations.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25% of the time
