Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Manager to manage our Strips and Low Bay lighting product category. The ideal candidate will be responsible to lead and drive the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned NPD projects, ensuring the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the stakeholders while leading and managing the product portfolio. This will enable us to accelerate sales growth, product vitality, and margin improvements across assigned categories!
This is a hybrid role with a strong preference for candidates based in the Atlanta region.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Understand customer base, applications, and competitors for assigned categories as needed to develop competitive solutions and generate sales growth.
- Be the product champion with external partners like customers, sales, and internal partners like engineering, marketing, supply chain, and finance.
- Define product roadmap, and effectively define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project expectations while providing timely escalation for product deviations as needed to mitigate quality and/or supply chain risks.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders including timely updates on project status, milestones, and any changes to the project plan.
- Work with company support teams including product support, sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, customer service, and sales to support product categories and new product launches.
- Effectively and proactively manage the product category portfolio with margin, mix, volume, product positioning, determine discontinuations where needed, to drive the overall productivity and profitability of the product category.
- Present and provide product training for assigned product categories and other adjacent categories for all support teams, channel partners, and customers.
- Lead, inspire, and influence the team to work according to the product development system with phase gates, milestones, and predefined deliverables.
- Have a basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques that allows one to lead and challenge the team.
- Drive KPI compliance with the team, including but not limited to phase gate compliance and performance tracking of productivity, margins, quality, ship promise compliance, inventory, and sales growth.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field. MBA a plus.
- 4+ years product management in electrical manufacturing, durable goods, preferably within the lighting industry.
- Strong communicator and team player.
- Strong understanding of product development life cycle.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of lighting industry sales channels, key influencers, and primary decision makers.
- Direct knowledge of lighting products, applications, and key competitors.

The range for this position is $84,500.00 to $152,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
