Job Summary

The Test Engineer, Automation is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test solutions for software to include web, mobile, firmware, and system level products. This role ensures product quality by validating functionality and reliability through well engineered automation frameworks and test strategies. The engineer will collaborate closely with design engineers, architects, product managers, and cross functional stakeholders to create comprehensive test scenarios and test scripts. Additional responsibilities include identifying and reporting defects with clear reproduction details, supporting continuous integration workflows, and recommending improvements to testing methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts for web, mobile, and firmware solutions, ensuring thorough and reliable test coverage.
  • Partner with manual test engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to design structured, high quality automation scenarios and test suites.
  • Develop application and test automation codes using Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML, Junit, Xunit, Nunit, Git, SQL, Node.js, Azure, React and Mithril.js.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop customized test environments using commercial equipment, internally developed tools, and specialized testing hardware.
  • Work with product owners, software engineers, and test engineers to align technical and business expectations and deliver automation scripts that meet defined requirements.
  • Analyze test results working collaboratively with hardware, firmware, and software teams to identify root causes, troubleshoot issues, and support debugging of complex embedded designs. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands on experience in testing and test automation.
  • Demonstrated experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency using command-line and engineering-created test tools (e.g., software test tools, automated test scripts, network data loggers).
  • Hands on experience with Playwright, Appium, Postman/Newman or comparable API testing tools, as well as test framework development for web and mobile platforms.
  • Ability to create structured test documentation and standard work instructions tailored to varying levels of technical detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical issues to both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Preferred familiarity with Copilot or other AI driven productivity or development tools.
