Job Summary
This position is focused on process improvement and manufacturing efficiency within backend/manual assembly operations in an electronics manufacturing environment. The engineer will support productivity improvements, line balancing, time studies, layout optimization, scrap reduction, and implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives. The role also supports troubleshooting, process documentation, engineering changes, and continuous improvement projects while ensuring compliance with ESD/static control and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support productivity and manufacturing efficiency improvements within production lines and manual assembly cells.
- Perform time studies, line balancing, and labor/resource distribution analysis.
- Optimize layouts, material flow, and product flow within manufacturing operations.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives directly on the production floor.
- Support scrap reduction and process optimization activities.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing/process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in engineering changes, process updates, and manufacturing documentation.
- Monitor operational metrics such as OEE, productivity, scrap, and yield.
- Support manufacturing operations within controlled environments following ESD/static control standards.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Training, and EHS teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering within manufacturing/electronics environments.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with line balancing, time studies, and workflow optimization.
- Experience supporting manual assembly or backend manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Core Tools and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience working with metrics such as OEE, productivity, scrap, and yield.
- Knowledge of ESD/static control environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Intermediate/Advanced conversational English. (must).
- Self-directed personality with strong floor presence and ability to work directly with production teams.
Travel Requirements
- 5%.
