Job Summary

Process development, implementation, and improvement; keeping machines running efficiently. Taking corrective and preventive actions to solve problems using established methodologies. Continuous improvement of Productivity and Scrap indicators. Ensuring that equipment operates safely.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Participation in the introduction of new products in the SMT area (NPI support).
  • Programming of SMT machines.
  • Generation of the documentation required for SMT equipment operation.
  • Providing necessary support to Manufacturing, SMT, and Backend areas.
  • Responsible for line metrics (OEE, Yield, Scrap, Available Time).
  • Process and program optimization.
  • Definition of and proposals for layout improvements.
  • Improving machine performance.
  • Responsible for designing and requesting the necessary tooling (stencils, fixtures, bases, etc.).
  • Supporting Engineering changes that impact any SMT-related product or process.
  • Ensuring that safety, health, and environmental programs and policies are followed to prevent accidents in the area of responsibility or in company facilities.
  • Promoting discipline, cleanliness, organization, and cost reduction within the area of responsibility.
  • Follow-up on actions identified from Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support and active participation in Continuous Improvement events.
  • Participation in maintaining the SMT area within targets for the 5S metric.
  • Maintaining product traceability throughout the process.
  • Implementation of best practices.
  • Definition of consumables.
  • Utilization & Downtime Management / Create Continuous Improvement Activities / MTBF, MTTR

Requirements

  • Completed university degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Conversational English skills
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar positions, preferably in Manufacturing areas.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machinery: cutters, rollers, presses, bending machines, CNCs, paint booths, etc.
  • New product implementation
  • Problem solving (tools and methodologies)
