Job Summary

 

We are looking for a Sr. Process Engineer with experience in die casting and smelting operations. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of metal casting processes. The main focus is reducing scrap and rework, optimizing furnace performance, and increasing operational efficiency and safety. This engineer will be a key contributor in standardizing work instructions and visual controls to ensure safe and consistent operations across foundry lines.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

  • Monitor and update key process KPIs; take action to maintain them within target.

  • Lead and support Kaizen events, BSF (Better/Smarter/Faster) projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Identify and implement actions to reduce casting scrap and rework.

  • Maintain 5S compliance in designated areas.

  • Develop defect-reduction strategies throughout smelting and casting processes.

  • Create and maintain standard work documentation and visual aids.

  • Support actions related to furnace performance, safety procedures, and energy efficiency.

Preferred Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.

  • 3+ years of experience in die casting, foundry, or smelting operations.

  • Solid understanding of casting processes, furnace control, and rework/scrap reduction.

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis).

  • Familiarity with performance metrics such as scrap rates, defect levels, and energy usage.

  • Ability to develop work instructions and process controls in a manufacturing environment.

  • Intermediate or higher English level (written and verbal).
