Job Summary

As part of its growth and expansion in the European market region Distech Controls is hiring a Sales Support Engineer (SSE) to join the English teamworking from the Greater London area.

This role is reporting to the European Sales Support Engineer Manager based in the EMEA headquarter in Brignais (Lyon city region, south of France).

You will play a strategic as an SSE role, you are the technical referent and the solution architect to support the sales team and the system integrators ecosystem (System Integrators, OEM, FM companies, Digital service companies, etc.) in the Distech Controls solutions adoption.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • In collaboration with the Sales team, you will be in charge of the technical relationship with customers and you will be required to carry out punctual actions on site.
  • You will support the sales team during the solutions presentations, demonstrations and solutions onboarding to our customers.
  • You will lead physical or remote meetings for system integrators on technical developments, solutions design and new products introductions.
  • You will support and assist system integrators on first projects, on specific strategic projects, and projects with new products to guarantee the proper completion and the success of the project.
  • You design the content and lead information sessions in collaboration with the Demand Generation team with design offices throughout the country.
  • The experience gained during customer projects with new products will allow you to share your skills with the technical support and training teams.
  • Your exchanges and experience with customers allow you to be an important player in the evolution and development of future new products with the R&D and Product Management departments.
  • In collaboration with the marketing and communication department, you will be involved in product launches and at the company's various commercial events (webinars, trade shows, roadshows, partner/customer meetings...).
  • You will manage projects independently and be able to involve departments/people necessary with periodic team sharing (variable schedule depending on the client, criticality of the project, etc.).

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Required skills:

  • You are an engineer or equivalent with at least 5 years' experience in the Building Management Systems (BMS) and their automation systems (BACS).
  • You have skills in building automation controls and programming. 
  • You are proficient in BMS protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc..). 
  • You have knowledge in the IoT and IT protocols, API REST, JSON, MQTT, IoT Hub, Node-RED, Postman, etc.
  • You have knowledge of IT networks and cybersecurity standards,
  • You with knowledge in the field of the cloud with the associated architectures and principles.
  • You have a spirit of synthesis allowing you to make the link between field requests and the enhancement of OT/IT/EDGE/CLOUD solutions
  • You are comfortable and motivated in the sale relationship to promote Distech Controls portfolio solutions.
  • You have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • You are recognized for your pedagogical approaches, your ability to work in a team and to manage priorities in the handling of our clients' emergency situations.

Prefered skills:

  • Skills with Distech Controls solutions are a plus.
  • Skills with Niagara Framework are a plus.
