Job Summary
The Director of Logistics and Trade is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end fulfillment operations across the EMEA and APAC regions. Based in the Netherlands and reporting directly to the Corporate VP of Logistics & Trade, this individual will serve as the regional authority on logistics strategy, warehousing negotiations, network optimization, and trade compliance. The Director acts as a critical bridge between corporate logistics strategy and regional go-to-market execution, partnering closely with sales and commercial teams to design and deliver scalable fulfillment solutions.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Key Responsibilities:

Regional Fulfillment & Operations: Manage end-to-end fulfillment across EMEA and APAC. Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor performance, inventory positioning, and carrier/3PL effectiveness. Serve as the primary operational escalation point.

Warehousing & Partner Management: Lead negotiations with warehousing providers and 3PLs across EMEA/APAC. Develop a preferred vendor framework balancing cost, quality, and coverage. Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs).

Network Optimization: Design and optimize the regional logistics network to reduce cost-to-serve and improve lead times. Conduct network studies, RFPs, and feasibility assessments for strategic inventory nodes.

Regional Trade & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international trade regulations, customs, and import/export laws across EMEA/APAC. Provide guidance on duty optimization, free trade agreements, and Incoterms.

Sales & GTM Partnership: Serve as the logistics SME for regional sales teams during pre-sales, RFPs, and deal structuring. Develop scalable fulfillment playbooks and design logistics models that enable competitive service offerings.
Required Qualifications:

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or trade operations, with 5+ years in a senior or director-level role.

Regional Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing multi-country distribution and cross-border fulfillment across EMEA and/or APAC.

Technical Skills: Proven track record in logistics network design, RFP management, complex 3PL/warehousing contract negotiations, and international trade compliance.

Languages: Fluency in English (additional European or Asian languages are an advantage).
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or Logistics.

Experience in tech hardware, consumer goods, life sciences, or industrial distribution within a matrixed corporate structure.

Familiarity with logistics technology platforms (TMS, WMS, ERP) and data analytics tools.

Knowledge of Dutch and EU trade regulations and logistics infrastructure.
