Job Summary

Ensure the timely and accurate supply of materials based on requirements generated by Planning, ensuring materials are purchased, delivered, and received according to production needs.

The Buyer serves as a key point of contact between suppliers and Operations, following up on purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, and potential supply issues.

The position contributes directly to production efficiency, supplier performance, inventory management, and the execution of sourcing strategies.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Analyze material requirements for the next three months and identify potential supply risks.
  • Monitor Purchase Orders (POs) and supplier promised delivery dates.
  • Convert Planning requisitions into Purchase Orders.
  • Communicate POs and required delivery dates to suppliers.
  • Follow up on shipments, including cross-border shipments, through receipt at the plant.
  • Execute Planning requests such as: Pull-in, sPush-outs, Cancellations
  • Communicate results and changes to Planning.
  • Identify and resolve materials held in receiving or quarantine.
  • Follow up on and resolve invoice holds.
  • Communicate parameter updates to Sourcing, including: Price, Lead Time, MOQ, Standard Pack
  • Execute Engineering-approved material deviations when supply issues occur.
  • Manage Phase-in / Phase-out material processes.
  • Communicate demand expectations to suppliers.
  • Execute Return to Supplier (RTS) processes according to RMA instructions.
  • Execute Split Purchases according to Sourcing guidelines.
  • Conduct Open Market Research.
  • Analyze Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and execute actions according to Sourcing approvals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order information in the system.
  • Escalate supplier issues to Operations and Tactical Sourcing.
  • Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree / Completed degree
  • Previous experience in Purchasing/Procurement
  • Advanced English
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Kanban
  • Knowledge of MRP
  • Supply Chain knowledge
  • Logistics knowledge
  • Import/Export knowledge
  • Ability to use and interpret data to determine purchasing needs and support inventory management activities
