Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Manufacturing Electronic Test Engineer to lead the support of our production as well as the development and deployment of test equipment. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful release of new products and the validation of test systems that guarantee the performance and reliability of electronic PCBAs and finished products. As a vital link between our Operations and R&D teams, you will play an active role in new product introductions, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and product quality.
This role is not remote and will require the individual to work onsite at our Washington, MO facility.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Provide daily technical support to production teams to ensure equipment manufacturing capacity and perform periodic maintenance.
- Oversee the design and development of automated functional test equipment for finished products and PCBA based on specifications and requirements.
- Contribute to the release process for Engineering changes (ECN & BOM) and new software deployment to current products in manufacturing while minimizing impacts on production.
- Analyze equipment performance, identify opportunities, and work closely with production to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze incidents and breakdowns, resolve technical problems (commissioning, test jigs, databases, etc.) with the aim of improving quality and optimizing production while increasing the level of product quality.
- Collaborate with the R&D team on development phases, design review activities and launch of new products and software to ensure their manufacturability, testability and reliability.
- Work closely with production personnel to integrate test equipment into manufacturing and with suppliers for PCBA testing.
- Produce and maintain documentation associated with test equipment, production processes, instruction sheets and equipment maintenance plans.
- Contribute to validation test plans for production readiness.
- Deploy and monitor performance indicator.
- Support continuous improvement activities (Kaizen) regarding quality control, productivity gains and cost reduction.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, automated production engineering or equivalent
- Min 8+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in electronics, debugging and programming
- Experience with a test and measurement automation system
- Knowledge of electronic PCBA manufacturing methods
- Knowledge of communication protocols and interfaces used in electronic products
- Experience working in software and hardware quality control
- Experience with ERP and/or MES systems
- Knowledge of CE, UL, CSA, etc. standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-growing organization
- Organization, planning and prioritization
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite software
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of IPC and ESD protection standards
- Knowledge of communication protocols, LonWorks and BACnet, and their application in building control systems
The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $149,900.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
