Job Summary
Join a team building the software platform that connects commercial refrigeration systems in the field to the cloud. Our engineers solve complex problems across IoT, device networking, edge connectivity, distributed systems, cloud services, APIs, data pipelines, and web applications—with software that directly operates at the intersection of physical equipment and digital systems.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll own services and capabilities end to end, shape architecture and technical direction, and solve challenging problems involving thousands of connected devices, unreliable field networks, high-volume telemetry, scalability, security, and system reliability. You’ll work across the technology stack, lead technical design discussions, and help build systems that are robust in the field and scalable in the cloud. This is an opportunity to have meaningful technical ownership while working on a real-world IoT platform where software decisions directly impact how commercial refrigeration systems are monitored, managed, and optimized.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Software Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.
- Build scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and web applications.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, networking, and system-level issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Web Application Development
- Develop responsive and user-friendly web applications using modern frontend technologies.
- Implement secure backend services supporting authentication, authorization, and session management.
- Design APIs that enable seamless integration between frontend, backend, and third-party systems.
- Optimize system performance through caching and efficient API design.
Systems and Infrastructure
- Deploy and support applications in Linux-based environments.
- Monitor system performance and analyze application and system logs.
- Diagnose network, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to improve system reliability and scalability.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Linux Administration
Comfortable working in Linux environments, including:
- Command-line proficiency
- Shell scripting (Bash)
- File system and permissions management
- Process and service management
- System monitoring and troubleshooting
- Log analysis and diagnostics
- SSH and remote system administration
Modern Web Development
Frontend Development
Experience with:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript (ES6+)
- Responsive web design
- React.js or equivalent modern frontend framework
Backend Development
Experience designing and implementing:
- RESTful APIs
- Authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Session management
- Secure application development practices
- API integration and service-oriented architectures
Web Architecture
Strong understanding of:
- Client-server architecture
- API design principles
- Data flow between frontend and backend systems
- Application scalability considerations
- Caching strategies and performance optimization
- Distributed application architectures
Programming Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages, including experience with at least several of the following:
- Go
- C/C++
- Python
- Java

The range for this position is $120,800.00 to $217,400.00 USD. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
