Job Summary

The Engineering Change Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of engineering changes to minimize the risk of quality issues with customers. This role collaborates closely with Manufacturing and Design teams to validate that products meet specifications while supporting engineering change management, configuration control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Validate and report activities related to engineering changes and process deviations.
  • Coordinate on-site Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including approval tracking and implementation.
  • Coordinate with FF Engineers on the receipt, management, and implementation of engineering changes, including product trials and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design Assist teams to support the BOM creation process and ensure BOM accuracy.
  • Maintain statistical analysis of identified deficiencies by type and frequency.
  • Analyze process and product performance using Design of Experiments (DoE) and leverage data analytics to drive corrective actions.
  • Prepare activity reports and provide problem-solving mentorship as required.
  • Identify engineering change dependencies and conflicts and communicate deficiencies to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support compliance with UL, CSA, NSF, and NOM requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to make engineering change and configuration management processes more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective.

 

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Engineering Change Management experience working with Engineering teams.
  • Project management, leadership, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, PFMEA, Statistical Analysis, Design of Experiments (DoE), SPC, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as A3, 8D, and DMAIC.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience supporting and participating in continuous improvement events (Kaizen, Six Sigma, BSFs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Manufacturing, Product, or Quality Engineering experience in a plant environment.
  • Experience in the electronics assembly area.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and/or international).
